BOSTON – The Big Red women's rowing program sent one boat to participate in the 54th Head of the Charles, held this afternoon in Boston. Despite blustery and cold conditions on the river, the Cornell crew of
Alexa Marcasciano (c),
Caroline Ressler (4),
Madeline Franck (3),
Jaquelyn Shroyer (2) and
Victoria Castellano-Woods (1) took eighth in a stacked field of 19 boats in the Women's Championship Four event.
The Big Red handled the challenging conditions and rowed a very clean race to finish as the third Ivy League boat to cross the line, behind Columbia and Brown in sixth and seventh place, respectively.
Cornell is back in action next Sunday, Oct. 29 when it travels to New Jersey to participate in the Princeton Chase.
