ITHACA, N.Y. – For the second consecutive game, and third time this season, junior goalie
Maddie Henry made double-digit saves, including one in the extra session, but it wasn't enough as the Big Red dropped a 1-0 overtime heartbreaker to Yale this afternoon on Marsha Dodson Field.
Henry finished with the game with 10 saves.
Bridget Condi scored in the 78th minute when she drove to the top of the circle and then sent a reverse stick shot to the far corner to secure the win for the visitors.
Yale (5-5, 1-0) had the advantage in shots (17-6), shots on goal (11-3) and penalty corners (5-2).
The Big Red put three of its six shots on goal, including a sequence midway through the first half when
Grace Royer had back-to-back chances with her first shot saved by Bulldog goalie Sydney Terroso before her second chance was swept off the goal line by Theodora Dillman.
Cornell (2-8, 0-3) is back in action on Monday, Oct. 8 when it head to Lafayette to take on the Leopards at 6 p.m.
