NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior
Daniel Grunberger improved to 6-1 in singles during the dual season, but the men's tennis team was defeated by Harvard, 4-1, in the semifinals of the ECAC Indoor Championships on Saturday at Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
Grunberger won in straight sets at the No. 4 position, but Harvard won a pair of three-set matches to clinch. The freshman team of
Alafia Ayeni and
Evan Bynoe also won at No. 2 doubles for Cornell (3-4).
The loss sends the Big Red to the third-place match, where it will take on Princeton at 4 p.m. Sunday. All of this weekend's matches from the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center will be broadcast on subscription-based Ivy League Network.
