ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's polo team wrapped up its regular season and tuned up for the national championship with a 21-9 win over the Central New York Polo Club on Saturday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center. The Big Red enter the national semifinals with a 15-3 record.
CNY opened the game with a two-pointer to take the first lead, but the Big Red scored the next four goals and would never trail from that point on. Cornell broke the contest open with seven goals in the second chukker to take an 11-4 lead into the half. Cornell kept up the attack in the third and took a 16-5 lead into the fourth. From there, the Big Red cruised home to take the win.
Cornell opens nationals as the No. 1 seed by playing the winner of the Texas A&M-Cal Poly match on Thursday, April 5 at 4 p.m. (PT) in Santa Barbara, Calif.
