ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's polo team started the spring semester out on the right foot, giving head coach
Branden Van Loon a victory in his first match with the team as Cornell topped the Central New York Polo Club 20-5 on Saturday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center. The Big Red improved to 8-2 on the season with the win.
Jed Cogan led all scorers with 11 goals as the Big Red used a 6-0 second chukker to take control of the match and a 5-0 third to seal the win. The win helped the Big Red move to 6-1 at home this season and 6-1 in the team's last seven matches.
The Big Red remains at home on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. when it faces Yale at Oxley.
