Maria Adiaconitei won in both singles and doubles, and the women's tennis team started the home portion of its dual match schedule with a 5-2 victory over Army West Point on Saturday at Reis Tennis Center.
Cornell (1-2) started off by handily securing the doubles point via 6-2 victories from both the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Freshman
Valerie Ho and Adiaconitei quickly closed out their respective matches from the middle of the order before Iinuma clinched with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2.
Katherine Nguyen accounted for the final point of the day from Cornell, battling to win in a super tiebreaker from the No. 1 spot.
Saturday's match marked the 16th meeting between the programs, with Cornell now having won 15. The Big Red returns to Reis Tennis Center at 1 p.m. Sunday, when it hosts Binghamton in a non-league match. The match is free to attend and open to the public.
