ITHACA, N.Y. — The women's tennis team wrapped up a successful home weekend with a 6-1 victory over Binghamton on Sunday afternoon at Reis Tennis Center.
Maria Adiaconitei teamed with
Ana Elhom to win at No. 3 doubles, then steamrolled her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for Cornell (2-2), which started the weekend with a 5-2 win over Army West Point about 24 hours earlier.
The bottom portion of the singles lineup dominated for the Big Red, with
Valerie Ho,
Sarah Campbell and Elhom clinching the match with straight-set victories.
Mariko Iinuma then wrapped up Cornell's scoring by rallying to win in three sets at No. 2.
The Big Red is now 19-2 all-time against Binghamton (0-2).
Up next for Cornell is a trip to the Keystone State for a non-league match against Penn State at 10 a.m. Sunday.
