BOSTON – The Cornell men's lightweight rowing team opened the 2019-20 season on a high note, as the lightweight eight won bronze at the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday on the Charles River in Boston.
With the bronze medal, this marks the sixth straight year that the Cornell lightweights have won at least one medal at the Head of the Charles, one of the most prestigious regattas of the fall season.

Eric Lee crossed the finish line third in 14:13.256. The top-three finishers were all Ivy League boats, as Princeton won gold with a time of 14:06.754 and Penn took home silver with a mark of 14:07.403.
The Big Red also raced a boat in the lightweight four, as the team placed sixth among 16 boats. The strength of the Ivy League was evident once again in the lightweight four race, as the top seven boats were all from Ivy League institutions. Coxed by

The Cornell men's lightweight rowing team will be back in action next weekend when it competes in the Princeton Chase on Oct. 27 in Princeton, N.J.
