Box Score SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Senior Jaime Bourbonnais notched four points to lead the Cornell women's ice hockey team to a 4-1 victory over host, Syracuse, Tuesday night.

For its ninth straight game, Cornell scored the first goal of the game. Junior Finley Frechette redirected a shot from senior Jaime Bourbonnais into goal in the sixth minute. Bourbonnais and junior Willow Slobodzian set up the shot, as Frechette made sure the puck went straight into the net.

Shortly after Frechette's goal, Syracuse scored one of their own to tie the score with 12 minutes left in the first period. With neither team able to tally another, the Big Red and the Orange entered the first intermission tied, 1-1.

The second period did not see a goal until very late. With just 1:48 left in the period, senior Kristin O'Neill tallied her sixth goal of the season from the faceoff mark. After receiving a pass from senior Amy Curlew, O'Neill placed a quick slap shot into the goal to give Cornell a one-goal lead heading into the final break.

The Big Red added to its lead with a third goal in the fifth minute of the third period. Curlew grabbed the puck off the goalie's pads as she set up the play. Curlew passed to O'Neill as soon as she hit Cornell's offensive zone. O'Neill looked for an open spot but ultimately passed to Slobodzian, who sent the puck to Bourbonnais. Scoring her second goal of the season, Bourbonnais dumped the puck into the net from the top of the offensive zone.

Senior Paige Lewis closed out the night with an empty-net goal with 1:26 on the clock. With Lewis' goal, Cornell won 4-1.

The Big Red outshot the Orange, 29-16.

Junior goalie Lindsay Browning made 15 saves on the night to help secure the win.

Following the United States' holiday, Thanksgiving, the Big Red will travel to Ohio to face Ohio State in a two-game series on Friday (Nov. 29) and Saturday (Nov. 30).
