ALBANY, N.Y. - Junior goaltender
Lindsay Browning was named the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week for the second week in a row after allowing just one shot past her over the weekend.
For the first game of ECAC Hockey season, Browning became the first goalie in program history to earn three shutouts to start the season. Browning stopped 14 shots to earn the 1-0 shutout win against Quinnipiac.
Following a successful Friday night, the Cornell women's ice hockey team hosted #6 Princeton for an afternoon game. Browning allowed just one puck to pass her late in the second period. Combined with the Big Red offense, Cornell never gave up the lead against the Tigers and Browning earned her fourth win on the season.
The Penfield, N.Y. native posted 38 saves over the weekend, including 24 against Princeton.
This marks the first time since February 2018 that a Cornell goalie has been named ECAC Goaltender of the Week for two weeks in a row. Marlene Boissonnault was tabbed ECAC Goaltender of the Week on Feb. 20 after a 5-0 shutout over Union and a 2-1 victory against RPI. She also earned the weekly award on Feb. 27 after going 2-1-0 in the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals.
