PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- A big day on vault lifted Cornell to a second-place finish at Penn's quad meet on Sunday afternoon. The Big Red scored a 191.125 at The Palestra, falling shy of the host Quakers (193.900), but squeaking past Ivy rival Brown (191.000) and Ursinus (183.025).
The Big Red had the day's highest team vault score at 48.100 and three top five finishers in the event with Sarah Maughn,
Maci Prescott and
Lyanda Dudley each scoring 9.650's to tie for fifth.
Claire Haklik and
Samantha Henry topped the charts on floor, matching Penn's Sydney Kraez with 9.8's and
Lyanda Dudley took second in bars with a 9.825.
Christina Luniewicz took fourth on bars with a 9.750.
Kaitlin Green was the team's top finisher on beam, placing seventh with a 9.675.
The meet was Cornell's third consecutive over 191.000
The Big Red will host the Pink Invitational against Ithaca and SUNY Brockport on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. at Teagle Gymnasium. The meet will be broadcast on ESPN+.
