BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Cornell gymnastics team took third place in the second semifinal at the USAG Collegiate Nationals, qualifying two for All-America honors on Friday evening at Wheeler Recreation Center at the University of Bridgeport. The Big Red scored a 193.400, clear of fourth place Texas Woman's (193.225), but behind Bridgeport (195.750) and UIC (195.675) for the two qualifying spots for Saturday's team finals.

Senior Kaitlin Green and sophomore Izzy Herczeg both qualified for event finals on beam, capturing All-America honors in the process. Green posted a 9.85 to tie for first with Southern Connecticut State's Jordan Peloquin, while Herczeg was just behind with a 9.80 to tie for fifth. Green, who won the USAG Collegiate nationals on beam in 2017, has captured five USAG All-America honors and will be vying for her third individual title. She also won bars in 2017. Herczeg, meanwhile, was a floor All-American as a freshman.

Sarah Maughan earned eighth place on vault (9.775), with Lyanda Dudley in 11th (9.750). Kelsey Kurfirst was the team's top performer on bars in 14th with a 9.725, while Herczeg captured 16th on floor with a 9.725.

Cornell sat in fourth place after its first rotation and couldn't get all the way back, surpassing TWU with a 48.600 on vault in the final rotation of the evening.
