ITHACA, N.Y. — Sophomore
Brooke Overholt won the 400 hurdles at the Athletics Ontario U20/Open outdoor track and field championship, held July 12-14 in Toronto.
Overholt's time of 59.37 seconds in the event was more than a second clear of the nearest challenger. It also came on the heels of a bronze medal-winning performance in the 100 hurdles a day earlier. Overholt set a personal record with a time of 14.01 seconds, which ranks fourth all-time for Cornell athletes.
Overholt is coming off a stellar freshman season with the Big Red, scoring points at both the indoor and outdoor Ivy League Heptagonal Championships and competing at the NCAA East Preliminary Round. Up next for her is a trip representing Canada at the 2019 Pan American U20 Championships July 19-21 in San Jose, Costa Rica.
