Jacob Wynkoop ran in a late-game touchdown but it was the visitors, Penn, taking home the 61-7 win, Friday night.
The Quakers scored four touchdowns in the first quarter to lead the team to a nine-touchdown win. Quarterback Eddie Jenkins had a part in seven of the nine touchdowns, running in three of them and throwing passes to Billy Murphy, Barry Klein, Sam Mintz and Ben Klaus for the other four. Laquan McKever and Mintz ran in the other two touchdowns for Penn.
Cornell defense did have a couple bright spots.
Matt Peck blocked a kick attempt on the extra point after the Quakers' first touchdown. The Big Red defense played a strong game in the second half, allowing just two touchdowns.
Cornell came back for a 57-yard drive in six plays at the end of the fourth quarter. With a four-yard rush Wynkoop finished the Big Red drive, and the game, on a touchdown for Cornell.
Aneesh Agrawal completed five passes for 31 yards before being taken out of the game on an injury.
Reed Fratt led the team with two receptions for 17 yards, while Wynkoop collected team-high 62 yards gained.
Seth Henks led the defensive squad with seven total tackles, with six of them being solo.
The Big Red sprint football team will be back in action on Friday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m. for a Friday night match against Army.
