HANOVER, N.H. -- Dartmouth raced out to a 19-point halftime lead and fended off every Cornell challenge after the break to secure a 75-53 victory on Saturday evening at Leede Arena. The Big Red dropped its third consecutive game to fall to 5-16 (2-6 Ivy), while the Big Green swept the weekend to improve to 9-14 (2-6 Ivy).
Terrance McBride scored a game-high 17 points and
Bryan Knapp added 10 to pace the Big Red.
Dean Noll added eight points,
Josh Warren had five to go along with four assists and
Kobe Dickson notched four points, six rebounds and three blocked shots.Cornell turned the ball over just seven times, but connected on just 36 percent from the floor.
Dartmouth dominated the game, outrebounding the Big Red 39-23 with Chris Knight securing 10 to go along with 17 points. James Foye matched Knight with 17 points and Aaryn Rai had 13.
FIrst Half
• The Big Red gave up a 3-pointer on the opening possession and the defense never tightened over the first 20 minutes.
• Dartmouth rang up 44 points on 68 percent shooting (17-of-25), outscoring the Big Red 28-16 in the paint and controlling the backboards (17-9).
• McBride had nine first first points to lead the Big Red, who shot 35 percent over the first 20 minutes.
• Rai and Knight each had eight points for Dartmouth, with Knight adding five rebounds.
• A 22-7 run allowed Dartmouth to open a 29-11 edge with eight minutes to go in the first half with Knight scoring all eight of his points over an 8:18 stretch.
• The Big Red got as close as 33-21 on a three-point play by McBride, but the home team outscored Cornell 11-4 over the final five minutes to go into the break with a 44-25 lead.
Second Half
• Dartmouth opened the second half by hitting a 3-pointer to push its advantage to 22, but Cornell quickly got back within 15 (48-33) by the first media timeout.
• Knapp scored six points and Riley Voss hit a 3-pointer heading into the break, but the Big Green got it back to 22 by the second media timeout.
• From there, Cornell never challenged, only getting as close as 16 over the final 12 minutes.
• McBride and Dean Noll each scored eight points in the second half, but the Big Red's 37 percent shooting wasn't able to move the needle or take advantage of the Big Green's own 39 percent from the floor.
• Foye scored 10 in the second half as Dartmouth outrebounded the Big Red 21-14 after halftime..

• Cornell returns home to begin a four-game Ivy League homestand when it faces reigning conference champion Yale on Friday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at Newman Arena in Ithaca, N.Y.
• The Bulldogs won the first meeting between the teams 86-71 on Feb. 1 in New Haven, Conn.
• Yale has won 14 consecutive games between the two programs, including seven in a row in Ithaca.
