Friday Night Redux:

•  Matthew Galajda made 19 saves for his third consecutive shutout and fifth of the season in the Big Red's 5-0 rout of St. Lawrence on Friday at Lynah Rink.
•  With the 19th shutout of his career, Galajda tied the program record originally set by Ben Scrivens '10. His shutout streak entering tonight's game spans 197 minutes, 25 seconds, which is the sixth-longest in program history.
•  While the Big Red was shaking hands with its opponent after the game, Colgate was holding off Clarkson to a 1-1 tie, meaning Cornell clinched the Cleary Cup title for ECAC Hockey's regular-season champion.
•  The Big Red's Cleary Cup title is its third straight, which is a first in program history. The last team to win three straight Cleary Cups was Harvard in 1992, 1993 and 1994. Cornell has now guaranteed itself of the No. 1 overall seed in the ECAC Hockey Championship playoffs.
•  Sophomore forward Max Andreev and sophomore defenseman each had a goal and two assists to pace the offense against the Saints. Andreev opened the scoring inside of two minutes of a relatively even first period.
•  The Big Red took control in the second period with a wraparound goal from sophomore Michael Regush and then Leahy's strike 88 seconds later. Regush's goal was his 10th of the season, making him just the fifth Cornellian to record double-digit goal totals in his first two years on East Hill since the turn of the century (Anthony Angello, Colin Greening, Matt Moulson and Riley Nash).
•  Cornell has now won eight straight, which gives it the longest active winning streak in the nation after American International's 11-game run was snapped Wednesday by Sacred Heart.
•  The Big Red has scored at least once in each first period of its current streak, racking up a national-best 19 goals in the opening 20 minutes over those eight games — nearly twice as much as any other team in the country since Feb. 1 (only Boston College, Bowling Green and Minnesota State have 10).

Highlights From Friday's Game vs. St. Lawrence:

Clarkson Update:

•  The Golden Knights are locked into second place in the ECAC Hockey standings after last night's 1-1 tie at Colgate. The Raiders scored the tying goal with 2.7 seconds left in regulation time to knot the game for good and dash Clarkson's Cleary Cup hopes.
•  Adam Tisdale scored the Golden Knights' goal late in the second period and senior Frank Marotte (#40, 23-7-3, 1.68, .941, 4 SO) — a graduate transfer from Robert Morris — made 27 saves.
•  Senior winger Haralds Egle (#18, 14-18–32; 6 PPGs) leads the team in scoring, returning to action last weekend after a two-game absence.
•  Egle used to play on the same line as Clarkson's next two leading scorers, senior Devin Brosseau (#14, 8-21–29) and sophomore center Josh Dunne (#21, 13-14–27; 8 PPGs) — but the trio was not reunited after Egle's return
last week. Dunne was not in Clarkson's lineup last night.
•  Junior Connor McCarthy (#2, 9-11–20) leads all ECAC Hockey defensemen with six power-play goals.
•  The Golden Knights' penalty kill leads the nation with a 92.1% success rate.
•  Clarkson is tied for ninth nationally with an average of 1.06 goals per first period, but they have only won one game this season in which they trailed at the end of any period.
•  Casey Jones '90 is in his ninth season as the head coach at Clarkson after serving as the associate head coach at Cornell from 2008-11.
