Lightweight Rowing Looks Towards Princeton Chase on Sunday

ITHACA, N.Y. - Coming off of an impressive second place finish at the 2021 Head of the Charles Regatta, the Cornell men's lightweight rowing program will head to Princeton, N.J. on Sunday, Nov. 7 for the Princeton 3-mile Chase. The Princeton Chase is the lightweights' second race of the fall season and provides another opportunity for the program to match up with premium competition. Cornell's lightweight's will compete in four events amid a five-hour race day on the three-mile course. The Big Red will have eight boats in competition, with provisional lineups provided below.

"The Big Red Lights always look forward to the Chase and we are very eager to race it this year," Chris Kerber, the Henry E. Bartels '48 Head Coach of Men's Lightweight Rowing said. "For our squad this race comes at the tail end of the fall racing calendar. The Lake Carnegie course is very straight forward and the Shea Rowing Center venue, with so many teams, has some very special aspects to it. With the racing and 'race day' at a premium, we get a look into our fall training and see how our race preparation matches up against our very, very competitive league."

At the Chase, Cornell will meet competition from the likes of Princeton, Penn, Harvard, Navy and Delaware.
