SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Cornell answered Skidmore's opening goal with the next seven and cruised to a 17-7 win on Sunday afternoon at Bloomfield Arena. The Big Red improved to 2-0 on the season with the victory.
Pablo Herrera tallied seven goals,
Taylor Palacios scored five, Benito Jaramillo Samper posted four and
Santiago Valenzuela had one to make up Cornell's scoring on the day. Two of Skidmore's goals came on two-pointers.
The Big Red led 7-1 after the first chukker and 14-4 after three, though Skidmore got back within seven (14-7) in the fourth before Cornell put the Thoroughbeds away with the final three of the match.
Cornell returns to action when it competes at the Virginia Fall Tournament in Charlottesville, Va. on Oct. 26-30.
