ITHACA, N.Y. – Senior goalkeeper
Aerin Park of the Cornell field hockey team has been named the NFHCA National Defensive Player of the Week following a double-shutout weekend. Park is the first ever Cornellian to be honored, and the just the 11th Ivy name called. She is the first Ivy honoree in the 2022 season.

"Aerin has been sensational all season," said head coach
Andy Smith. "She is clearly one of the best goalkeepers in the country and is playing at a level that I have rarely seen in a goalkeeper. This is a wonderful recognition for her, and I am sure it will not be the last award she wins."
Park shutout Ivy opponent Brown on the road on Friday, October 21, and #4 Louisville at home on Sunday, October 23. In the Louisville game, Park kept a clean sheet with seven saves in the contest. Park's goals allowed per game average ranks second in the league at 1.43. Her save percentage ranks first in the Ivy at .753.
