ITHACA, N.Y. -- Here are some notes from Cornell's 34-31 win at Colgate on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Andy Kerr Stadium.

TEAM

  • The win was Cornell's 650th in program history, making it the 15th school in the FCS to hit that mark and the sixth Ivy - Yale (921), Harvard (887), Penn (864), Princeton (849) and Dartmouth (724).
  • The Big Red has won consecutive games against Colgate for the first time since the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
  • Cornell is guaranteed its first winning non-league season since 2016 and will attempt to register its first perfect non-league slate since 2007. Its only 3-0 non-league seasons have been in 1992, 1994, 1998 and 2006.
  • When the Big Red scores 30 or more points all-time, Cornell is 240-12 (.952).
  • Conversely, opponents have scored 30 points against the Big Red 219 times in program history, and Cornell won for just the 21st time when that happens (.096).
  • Cornell evened its record all-time in Hamilton at 11-11.
  • The victory was the 74th all-time where Cornell scored the final points of the game to overcome a tie or deficit in the fourth quarter and the first since its 20-17 triumph at No. 12 Dartmouth in 2019.
  • For the sixth time in the past 18 games, the Big Red offensive line didn't allow an opponent sack.
  • Cornell has registered 25 and now 27 first downs in its last two contests against Colgate - the 52 are the most against an opponent in back-to--back years since also posting 52 vs. Yale in 2012 (26) and 2013 (26).
  • Since time of possession was first regularly tracked in 1983, Cornell is 16-3 when the Big Red possesses the ball more than 37:00 minutes, including 2-0 this year.
  • Cornell has now converted 45 consecutive PAT kicks after Jackson Kennedy's 4-for-4 performance at Colgate. The last PAT try was missed against Harvard on Oct. 12, 2019.
  • With 190 rushing yards and 284 through the air, Cornell nearly posted its 34th game all-time with at least 200 yards both rushing and passing and the first since ... last year when it had 229 rushing yards and 239 passing yards in a win over Colgate.

INDIVIDUAL

  • Jackson Kennedy's 45-yard field goal proved to be the ninth time in program history that the Big Red won on a field goal in the final two minutes of regulation and the first since Nickolas Null drilled a 41-yarder with 0:09 remaining to top Brown 37-35 in 2019.
  • Kennedy posted 10 points (two field goals, four PATs) in the win over Colgate, becoming the first Big Red kicker with at least 10 points in a game since Scott Lees posted 14 points (four field goals, two PATs) against Columbia to close out the 2021 season.
  • It was the first time a late field goal gave Cornell a road win since Null's 2017 43-yard field goal at Princeton gave Cornell a 29-28 win.
  • Thomas Glover had seven catches for 160 yards and sits just three receiving yards shy of becoming the 25th Cornellian to reach that milestone.
  • He became the first player to a post rushing and receiving touchdown in the same game since Harold Coles against Dartmouth on Nov. 10, 2018.
  • Glover's 144 receiving yards in the first half alone were the most by any player in a half since he posted 159 yards in the first half of the 2021 season opener against VMI.
  • Jameson Wang nearly became the first Cornell player to post 300 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in the same game (284 passing, 98 rushing). In fact, no player in school history has posted singles games of 300 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in a career.
  • The 62-yard scoring pass from Jameson Wang to Thomas Glover was the longest by a Big Red duo since Richie Kenney connected with Owen Peters for 63 yards against Brown on Oct. 26, 2019.
  • Wang's 98 rushing yards were the most by a Big Red quarterback on the road since Stephen Lizzua posted 131 yards in a 2007 game at Dartmouth.
  • With six tackles, Jake Stebbins increased his career total to 176 - good for 41st all-time at Cornell.
  • Four players made their first career starts - Parker Woodring (WR), Davis Watson (RT), Nic Paschall (LB) and Brody Kidwell (S).
  • It's the second time this season that Holt Fletcher posted both an interception and a tackle for loss in the same game (VMI). Prior to that, the last player to record both in a contest was 2021 captain Lance Blass in his final collegiate game against Columbia last fall.
  • Eddy Tillman's 56 rushing yards were a career high.
  • Sophomore Trey Harris posted a career-best nine tackles after entering the contest with six career stops.
