ITHACA, N.Y. - Cornell football standout James Reinbold has been named to the Academic All-America First Team, selected by College Sports Communicators for a student-athlete's success in the classroom and on the field.

Reinbold completed his Cornell career after a senior season where he set career-highs in total tackles (45), tackles for loss (6.5), sacks (4.5) and fumble recoveries (two). He recorded four or more tackles in eight of 10 games played with a season-high six set on three different occasions, including the final two games of the regular-season at Dartmouth and at home against Columbia. The Alaska native recorded 1.5 sacks in the season opener against UAlbany and again in Cornell's come-from-behind win against Brown on Oct. 25.

Reinbold was a 2025 Campbell Trophy semi-finalist and a dual major at Cornell studying Government and Performing and Media Arts and has spent multiple summers interning in the legal field, including two in his home state legislature with a goal of attending law school and becoming a prosecutor in Alaska following his graduation from Cornell.

The senior was one of five Cornell football players selected to CSC Academic All-District and is the first Academic All-America selection in program history.

Cornell football finished 2025 with a 4-6 overall record and 3-3 Ivy League mark.
