After Record-Setting Performance, Golf Closes Fall At Bucknell Invite

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's golf team will attempt to keep its momentum intact when it competes at the 19-team Bucknell Invitational beginning on Sunday, Oct. 9. The three-day event over fall break will feature 19 teams at the Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa.

Cornell is coming off a 54-hole record-low score last weekend at Columbia's Fall Invitational, finishing tied for third after rounds of 280-288-283 for an 851. Leading the way was Benjamin Choe, who set a Big Red individual scoring record over 54 holes with a 205, good for fourth overall. That was five shots ahead of teammate Josh Lundmark, who finished fifth and lowered his season scoring average to 71.80. The Big Red's 292.60 team scoring average currently is the lowest for a season in school history.

To get near those numbers, the Big Red will have to master the Bucknell Golf Club course. The par-70 cource plays at roughly 6,250 yards. Cornell hasn't played the course in competition since grabbing 11th at the 2005 Bucknell Fall Invitational. That weekend, the Big Red shot 911 over 54 holes and Robbie Fritz posted a top 20 individual finish.
