PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Cornell fencing team went 4-1 at Penn's Elite Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Tse Center, highlighted by a pair of victories over ranked opponents. The Big Red's record stands at 11-2  through two weekends of dual meets.

The Big Red avenged its lone loss of the season entering the day with a 15-12 triumph over No. 9 Northwestern and also captured a 15-12 victory over Temple to close out the event. Wins over UC San Diego (16-11) and Air Force (18-9) also sandwiched a competitive 16-11 defeat at the hands of No. 5 Ohio State to begin the day.
