Busy Weekend On Tap For Men's Polo

11/2/2022 1:00:00 PM

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's polo team will gear up for three contests in two states this weekend looking to build on its 3-1 start. The Big Red welcomes Marlan Farm to Oxley Equestrian Center on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m., then heads to Cambridge, Mass. for contests against Harvard (Saturday, Nov. 5 at 3 p.m.) and the Crimson Interscholastic team (Sunday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m.). The road games will be played at Joseph Poor Arena in South Hamilton, Mass.

Cornell is coming off a split at the UVa Fall Invitational, dropping a narrow 8-6 contest to Virginia before topping SMU 9-7 last week in Charlottesville. The runner-up finish, including the back-and-forth battle with the defending national champion Cavaliers, puts Cornell in position to jump back into the national spotlight.

Cornell and Marlan Farm, out of Freeland, Md., will meet for the first time. The Big Red is 23-0 all-time against Harvard dating back to their first meeting in 1988. The two teams last met on Oct. 30, 2021 in Cambridge, a 16-7 Cornell triumph.
