Emily Pape tallied a game-high 24 points in the outing. Sophomore
Summer Parker-Hall replicated her success from Saturday, concluding the day just one rebound shy of a double-double, while notching 13 points.
The Big Red opened the scoring on the night with a long three ball, but Mount had an answer with a 6-0 run to jump. Cornell responded with a 9-0 stretch to barrel back to 12-6 lead in a stretch that included points by four different Cornelians. The Mountaineers stormed back to trail by one at 12-11, but Pape drilled back-to-back free throws at 3:52 to increase the lead to 14-11, but Mount closed on a 7-3 run to lead 18-17 at the first intermission.
Cornell began to control the contest in the second, opening on an 11-2 run to lead 28-20 with 4:23 remaining in the quarter. Mount closed in with six straight points, but the Big Red maintained and expanded the lead to once again lead by eight when halftime came, 37-29. Cornell outscored the Mountaineers 20-11 in the second quarter.
Cornell found two different 10 point leads in the third, but ultimately closed out the quarter with the eight point lead, 55-47.
The Mountaineer's clawed back at the Big Red lead to open the fourth, brining up just a two point advantage for Cornell at 55-53. The Red appeared to pull away with 5-0 run, but the Mount responded with six straight points to trail by one at 60-59. Pape helped the Red close out strong though, tallying four of the six final points for Cornell.
