ITHACA, N.Y. --Â After a selection camp in Pennsylvania this weekend,
Bridget Mahoney has been selected for the USA Women's Indoor Training Squad in the lead up to the Indoor World Cup in February 2023 in Pretoria South Africa. Bridget will train with the team across the holiday period in Pennsylvania where the squad will be trimmed to 12. Those 12 will represent the United States at the aforementioned event.
"This is a great honor for Bridget, we played a lot of indoor last winter and when we played at the Big Apple Tournament in March she was fantastic, and unplayable at times. She was clearly one of the best players there," said head coach
Andy Smith. "We look forward to watching her progress this winter and hopefully supporting her in South Africa in February."
Bridget becomes the 6th active Cornell Player to be selected for a National Training Squad this year along with
Grace Leahy (Canada), Olivia &
Elizabeth Friedberg (Canada),
Georgia Kelly (Ireland) and
Caroline Ramsey (USA).
Final selections will be made in early January before the team departs for South Africa later in the month.
