ITHACA, N.Y. – Four Cornell men's soccer players have earned All-Region honors from United Soccer Coaches, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
Fifth-year forward
Emeka Eneli and senior forward
Brandon Morales each garnered All-Northeast Region First Team honors, while freshman goalkeeper
Ryan Friedberg and senior defender
Connor Drought were named to All-Northeast Region Second Team selections.
Morales led the Big Red with his 24 points (eight goals, eight assists), leading to his All-Ivy First Team selection. His eight assists were tied for Drought for the team lead and were the fourth-most by a Cornell player in a season.
Eneli, another All-Ivy First Team member, concluded the year with the third-most points on the team with 15 (four goals, seven assists). It was the second consecutive year Eneli concluded the year with seven assists.
Friedberg, the reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Year, registered all but 11:25 of game action between the pipes for Cornell while posting a 14-4-1 record with a 1.01 goals-against average and a .694 save percentage. His 14 wins were the third-most by a Cornell goalkeeper and just one off of matching the program record.
Drought, who also was named to the All-Ivy First Team, finished the year with 14 points (three goals, eight assists), while also serving as a key cog on the Big Red's back line.
