ITHACA, N.Y. – Sophomore Taylor Palacios poured in 13 points for the Big Red, powering the Cornell men's polo team to a 24-8 win over Skidmore on Friday, Feb. 11 at the Oxley Equestrian Center in Ithaca, N.Y. With the victory, the Big Red improves to 10-2 on the season and is 2-0 against the Thoroughbreds in the 2021-22 campaign and 29-0 since 2011-12.
Palacios made it practically impossible for Skidmore to have a chance in the contest, scoring all 13 of his points for the game in the first half and helping Cornell to a 17-3 lead after the first two chukkers. Palacios' season-high 13 points included a pair of two-point goals, bringing his goal count on the day to an impressive 11 goals.
Pablo Herrera (3), Santiago Valenzuela (2), Patricio Fraga-Errecart (2), and Alexander Dawson (2) all added multiple goals in the Big Red victory, while Nick Paciorek scored one of his own.
The Cornell men's polo team will be back in action when it takes on Virginia Tech on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Oxley Equestrian Center in Ithaca, N.Y.
