ITHACA, N.Y. – Coming off last week's rout of Skidmore, the Cornell men's polo team is slated to host Virginia Tech this Saturday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Oxley Equestrian Center in Ithaca, N.Y.

LAST TIME OUT:

The Big Red skated easily past Skidmore last Friday, downing the Thoroughbreds, 24-8. Friday's victory improved Cornell's record against Skidmore to 29-0 since the 2011-12 season. Taylor Palacios boosted Cornell to a big lead early, scoring all his season-high 13 points in the first half. Five other Cornell student-athletes contributed goals in the win, with Pablo Herrera, Santiago Valenzuela, Patricio Fraga-Errecart, and Alexander Dawson contributing multiple scores.

KEEPING IT ROLLING:

With the win over Skidmore, Cornell bettered its record to 10-2 on the season. The Big Red has won eight of its last nine contests and is currently enjoying a two-game win streak.

VS. VIRGINIA TECH:

Saturday's contest between Cornell and Virginia Tech will be the first meeting between the two schools in recent history.

RUNNING IT UP:

In its last contest, Cornell won by 16 points, its largest margin of victory all season. Cornell has not won consecutive games by more than 16 points since 2019, when it defeated Harvard 20-2 on Nov. 9 and Connecticut 28-8 on Nov. 15 of that year. The Big Red will look to change that against the Hokies on Saturday.
