NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Cornell gymnastics team had several standout individual efforts as the Big Red took fourth at the Ivy Classic on Sunday afternoon at Yale's John J. Lee Amphitheater. Cornell posted a 191.625 score, its sixth consecutive meet of 191.000 or better.
Sydney Beers (floor) and
Calista Brady (vault) were the top individual finishers on the afternoon, each taking fourth. Beers was the runner-up in the all-around with her 38.675, just squeaking past Yale's Sarah Wilson (38.650) for second.
Other top 10 individual event finishers included
Kate Michelini on bars (ninth, 9.775) and floor (10th, 9.650), as well as
Regina Walton on beam (seventh, 9.750).
Cornell returns to action on Saturday, March 5 when it heads to Penn State for a 7 p.m. quad meet with the Nittany Lions, Denver and Southern Utah.
