ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell men's swimming and diving senior Jameson Crandell stole the show at the Big Red Diving Invitational on Saturday at the Teagle Pool in Ithaca, N.Y., sweeping the competition by winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter disciplines.
Competing against divers from Colgate, St. Bonaventure, and Yale, Crandell impressed, surpassing the 300-point plateau in both events. Crandell's highest point total came in the 3-meter where he emerged victorious with a whopping 350.45 points. He added a 308.20-point showing in the 1-meter to win that event as well.
Freshman Soodong Kim finished as the runner-up in the 1-meter with 295.20 points, giving Cornell the 1-2 finish in its home pool.
The Cornell men's swimming and diving team will now turn its focus to the 2022 Ivy League Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, slated for Feb. 23-26 in Princeton, N.J.
