NEW YORK – The Cornell women's track and field team finished strong on the second and final day of the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge on Saturday at The Armory, placing ninth in a field of 23 teams with 29 points.

Seniors Brooke Overholt and Marguerite Lorenzo were the Big Red's top finishers of the day, both placing third in their respective events. In her first 400-meter race of the season, Overholt wasted no time in clocking a personal-best, finishing in 55.74, a mark which sits third in the Ivy League so far this season. Lorenzo's top-three finish came in the high jump where she cleared 1.75m (5-08.75).

In the pole vault, freshman Gabrielle Pack's impressive indoor campaign continued, as she cleared a personal-best 3.90m (12-09.50) to finish eighth and score points for the Big Red. Pack has recorded a personal-best in all five meets this season, and after Saturday, she improves to fourth all-time in Cornell history in the event. Pack is just a half of an inch off of the Big Red's freshman record.

Junior Phoebe Price-Roberts has also showed massive improvement this season, posting her second 1-meter personal-best of the year in the weight throw on Saturday. Price-Roberts' heave of 17.71m (58-01.25) was good for 13th overall and ranks sixth all-time in the Big Red record books.

The Cornell women's track and field team will return to The Armory next weekend for the Rutgers Open on Feb. 11-12.
