Gymnastics Crushes Season High With 193.525 At West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- The Cornell gymnastics team easily posted a season high score, but West Chester rallied past the Big Red on the final routine of the final rotation to claim a 193-625-193.525 dual meet victory on Friday evening at the Sturzebecker Health Science Center.

West Chester passed the Big Red in the final rotation, with a 9.875 and 9.925 on floor to close with the win on senior day for the Golden Rams. Despite the loss, Cornell's team score easily outpaced its previous season high of 191.900.

The Big Red posted the highest team score on vault, with Donna Webster tying for the event win (9.775) as Cornell had four gymnasts finish in the top four with ties. Regina Walton was third with a 9.750, while Miranda Lund, Calista Brady and Amy Krueger all tied for fourth with a 9.700. 

Katie Michelini was the runner-up on bars, as her 9.825 tied a career high that places her 10th in school history. Melanie Stone placed fifth on the apparatus with a 9.700.

Lund also won beam (9.800) and took third on floor (9.850). Lund's floor score ties her for 10th in school history. Walton finished in the top five with her 9.575 bars routine, while Brady and Victoria DeMeo each scored 9.800 on floor to tie for fifth.
