BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Two Cornell senior women's track and field athletes closed out successful indoor seasons by garnering second-team All-America status after their finishes on Friday at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Beatrice Juskeviciute took 11th in the pentathlon and
Leone Farquharson finished 16th in the long jump on the event's first day of competition
Juskeviciute took third with 4116 points, just 40 points off her own school record, to take 11th in an incredibly strong field. Her shot put toss of 42-8 1/4 was the third-best, while her 800 meter time (2:19.90, ninth) and 60 hurdles time (8.51, 10th) also ranked in the top 10 at ninth. The four-time All-American collects a second-team accolade for her finish.
Farquharson entered the championship seeded 16th and finished right there with a best mark of 19-11 1/2. Her efforts in reaching the championship meet solidified second team All-America status. She took three jumps, fouling on her first attempt, jumping 5.77m on her second and leaping 6.08m on her third and final attempt.
