ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's rowing team completed competition at the Doc Hosea Invitational, getting vital racing experience in its first spring racing since 2019.
The varsity eight finished fifth in heat three, collecting the 13th best time out of 18 teams with its 6:49.14. That mark was better than Dartmouth (6:49.29) and behind Penn (6:27.17) and Columbia (6:47.72) among Ivy League schools.
The Big Red's second varsity eight was third in its heat out of lane five, crossing the line in 6:55.06, behind only Syracuse and Navy and the seventh fastest in its grouping. The third eight was third in its heat in a final time of 7:25.74.
The varsity four took fourth in heat three with a 7:50.29, while the second four also grabbed fourth in 8:29.95.
Penn retained the Class of 1989 Plate based on its faster times in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four heats.
