Big Marks, Career Bests Highlight Women's Track & Field Weekend

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's track and field team posted three top 10 school marks and 17 top 10 individual event finishers as the Big Red split squad competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic and Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitationals this past weekend.

Bison Outdoor Classic
• Zoe Wilkie Tomasik claimed first in the 1,500 meters (4:38.70) for the lone event win for the Big Red at Bucknell with her Friday evening run.
• In the 100 hurdles, freshman Tia Taylor took sixth in 14.61 on Saturday.
• Sophomore Niya Cummings took seventh in the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:04.55.

Larry Ellis Invitational
• Jessica Kolesar took 10th in the long jump with a best distance of 5.49m (18-0 1/4).
• Phoebe Price-Roberts was seventh in the hammer (54.56m, 179-0) on her second throw of a series that saw her surpass 172-0 on five of six throws.
• The 4x100 relay of Ama Boham, Isabella Davis, Jada Smith and Lauren Jones grabbed fifth in 46.62, taking first in the fifth heat. 
• Brooke Overholt crossed the 100 hurdles tape in 13.94, good for third overall in the prelims and just ahead of sixth-place Ama Boham (14.31).
• A pair of women placed in the top 10 in the women's 200, with Kayleigh Furth finishing seventh (25.11) and Nia Robinson securing ninth (25.20).
• Freshman Noelle Elkinton (14.11m, 46-3 1/2) grabbed eighth in the shot put, with her best mark coming on her final throw of the opening round to secure the seventh-best mark in school history.
• Marguerite Lorenzo claimed the high jump title by nearly three inches, as her 1.81m clearance (5-11 1/4) on her final jumped was better than any other competitor, with the nearest leading 1.74m. Lorenzo's mark bettered her own career high and upped the second-best leap at Cornell.
• Margaux Rawson (sixth, 1.69m), Monique Anderson (seventh, 1.64m) and Olivia Rodriguez (10th, 1.64m) all placed in the top 10 in the high jump behind Lorenzo.
• Victoria Atkinson (3.96m, 12-11 3/4) surged to second in the pole vault with a career-best mark that is the fourth-highest in school history, with freshman Gabrielle Pack fourth with her best clearance of 3.66m (12-0).

The Big Red will send competitors to the Virginia Challenge beginning on Friday, April 22 in Charlottesville, Va.
