Two School Records, Nine Top 10 Finishes Highlight Women's Track & Field Weekend

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- A pair of Cornell school records fell as the Big Red women's track and field team completed competition at the Virginia Challenge. The three-day meet concluded on Saturday afternoon and Cornell registered nine top 10 event finishes.

Phoebe Price-Roberts got the weekend started off right with a school record the hammer, taking 10th with a toss of 55.48m (182-0). That was four inches better than Leena Morris' best throw of 55.37m in 2019.
Victoria Atkinson was fifth in the pole vault, clearing a personal best and school record mark of 4.16m (13-7 3/4) - a full three-and-a-quarter inches better than Natalie Gengel's previous mark from 2009. 
Rachel Bonnet completed the heptathlon with 4,433 points, with an individual event best of sixth in the 800 meters (2:26.47). Her score ranks eighth all-time at Cornell.
• The Big Red's 4x100 relay claimed sixth in 46.95,while the 4x400 relay claimed seventh in 3:44.04, just ahead of Boston College and Pitt.
Brooke Overholt won the 400 hurdles in 58.19, a season best, to hold off Duke's Erin Marsh (58.45) and Penn State's Yasmin Brooks(59.68).
Marguerite Lorenzo was sixth in the invitational high jump with a 1.76m clearance (5-9 1/4)
Catalina Zaloj (1.69m, 5-6 1/2) and Olivia Rodriguez (1.66m, 5-5 1/4) were second and third in the high jump.
