ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's rowing team dropped a competitive race with Dartmouth for the Parents Cup and Brown retained the Dunn Bowl after racing on Saturday afternoon on the Cayuga Lake Inlet. The Big Red honored its seniors in its first home competition since November of 2019.
Brown took control of the varsity eight race in the early going and cruised to a victory in 6:26.4, but Dartmouth and the Big Red jostled to the finish with the Big Green edging Cornell by five and a half seconds. The Big Red finished on its home course in 6:57.8, just off the Big Green's time of 6:52.3.
Cornell took third in the second varsity eight races and both the varsity four and second varsity four starts.
The Big Red claim a win in the third varsity four race with a time of 8:07.4 and was second in the third varsity eight attempt (7:22.2).
Next up for Cornell will be the Women's Sprints on Sunday, May 1 in Worcester, Mass.
