Competing extremely well over two hard-fought days in Barton Hall, the Cornell indoor women's track and field team placed second to Columbia at the Heptagonal Championships on Feb. 25-26, 2012, improving on third-place finishes from the past two indoor seasons and producing their best point total since the 2009 Heps championship team as Columbia won its first-ever women's indoor title.

Women's Track & Field Tunes Up For Heps At Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Cornell women's track and field team had its final tuneup prior to next weekend's Heptagonal Championship with impressive efforts at the historic Penn Relays. The Big Red completed competition on Friday afternoon at Franklin Field.

• Erin Hudson was 28th out of 48 racers in the 5,000 meters, crossing the finish line in 16:52.07 - 10 spots ahead of Natalie Morris (17:09.19). Hudson took 10th in heat two while Morris was 17th.
• The distance medley relay squad took 10th in a powerful field in a time of 12:02.05. Izzy MacFarlane, Rebecca Hasser, Gwen Parks and Clara Harman made up the Cornell lineup.

The Big Red will head to New Haven, Conn. for the 2022 Outdoor Heptagonal Championship beginning on Saturday, May 7 at Dewitt Cuyler Athletic Complex and the Dwyer Track.
