HAMILTON, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's cross country team kicked off the 2022 season with a strong showing at Colgate's Harry Lang Invitational, taking third among five Central New York rivals. In a meet that featured some of the Big Red's top freshmen and sophomores, Cornell placed five runners in the top 25.
Rookie
James Glebocki led the way with an 11th-place individual finish in a time of 20:49.1. The team's next seven finishers all crossed the line within 30 seconds of each other, with
Tyler Canaday (21:12.3) and
Kamran Murray (21:12.5) hitting the tape almost simultaneously for 16th place. Sophomores
Jake Gelfand (21:18.0) and
Andy O'Brien (21:34.6) also scored for Cornell.

Syracuse took the team title with 18 points, including a 1-2-3-5-7 overall finish. Buffalo took second with 38 points and four top 10 finishers, with the Big Red taking third. Cornell finished ahead of Central New York rivals Binghamton (130) and Colgate (133) in the 55-person race.
The Big Red will return to competition at the Fordham Fiasco on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City - the home of the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship and the NCAA Northeast Regional.
