SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The Cornell women's rowing team excelled at the annual Head of the Fish Regatta on Saturday afternoon, garnering six top-five finishes out of the program's 10 entries.

The program's top two varsity eight programs registered third- and fifth-place finishes out of 19 entries. Cornell's 'B' entry finished in third place with a time of 12:04.06, finishing behind MIT (11:55.18) and Wesleyan (12.03.45), while the 'A' crew clocked a 12:12.40.

In the second varsity eight, Cornell finished in second and sixth places out of 23 entries. The Big Red's 'A' boat concluded with a time of 12:43.63, which was 24 seconds behind first-place finishing MIT (12:19.56). Cornell's other entry posted a time of 13:08.54.

Cornell's fleet of varsity fours all finished in succession between fifth and eighth places. The 'A' boat registered the best time of the quarter of Big Red crews finishing with a time of 14:18.65. Following the Big Red's top varsity four was the 'B' crew (14:25.19), the 'D' boat (14:41.72), and 'C' team (14:43.70).

Both of Cornell's novice teams placed first in the four and eight on Saturday. The novice four clocked a 13:59.82, which was over a minute and a half better than Gordon College (15:34.05), and the eight finished 41 seconds ahead of Hamilton (13:50.40) with its time of 13:09.08.
