ITHACA, N.Y - Cornell women's ice hockey snaps it's four game losing skid with a 4-2 victory against Ivy-League foe Brown at Lynah Rink on Friday evening.
The Big Red came out on fire registering three goals in a span of seven minutes late in the first period to give Cornell a 3-0 lead.
Gillis Frechette,
Georgia Schiff, and
Caroline Chan all found the back of the net during the opening period.
Both teams went scoreless through the second period, keeping the score at 3-0 heading into the final period.
Brown began their rally effort with an unassisted shorthanded tally from Jade Iginla. Iginla was also responsible for a short-handed goal in the matchup earlier in the season between the Big Red and the Bears. Cameron Sikich would follow that up with a goal of her own, to cut the Big Red lead to 3-2, late in the third period. Brown's six on four empty-net efforts proved unsuccessful, as Frechette tallied her second goal of the contest as an insurance-marker.
