ITHACA, N.Y. - Women's ice hockey hosted Yale for senior night in an Ivy-League matchup with postseason implications. The Bulldogs escaped with a 3-2 victory in overtime.
Yale opened the scoring with a goal from Vita Poniatovskaia at the 13:46 minute mark of the first period. The Big Red would match that with a goal from
Lily Delianedis less than four minutes later.
Delianedis found the back of the net for her second tally of the game in the second period to give Cornell a 2-1 lead. A late period power-play proved crucial as Yale took advantage for the game-tying goal from Claire Dalton.
Overtime did not last long as Dalton put in the game-winning goal for the Bulldogs to clinch their first-ever Ivy League title.
