ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell fencing team closed out the 2023 Ivy League Round Robin with a decisive 19-8 win over No. 8 Yale, closing out its .weekend in sixth place with a 1-5 record. Freshman Ketki Ketkar earned first-team All-Ivy honors in epee after posting a 12-5 individual record.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's fencing team will be looking to finish strong on Sunday after dropping four duals to top 10 teams on day one of the 2023 Ivy League Round Robins on Saturday afternoon at Barton Hall. The Big Red dropped contests to No. 2 Princeton (19-8), No. 3 Columbia (20-7), No. 4 Harvard (15-12) and No. 10 Penn (18-9) to slip to 25-8 on the season.

Epee was Cornell's strongest weapon on day one, earning the win against both Penn and Harvard and suffering a narrow 5-4 defeat to Columbia. Freshman Ketki Ketkar was 7-4 and enters day two of the championships in position to earn All-Ivy honors. Emily Gao was 5-5 on the day as well.

In foil, Cornell defeated Harvard 5-4 and was led by Rei Hosono, who posted seven wins. Stella Berman paced the sabre fencers with a 5-5 mark on day one.

The Big Red closes out the Round Robins on Sunday when it meets Brown at 1:45 p.m. and then No. 8 Yale at 3:15 p.m. to close out the event.
