DENTON, Texas -- Sophomore Sydney Beers qualified for Saturday's USAG Collegiate Nationals event finals, guaranteeing her All-America honors in three events as day one wrapped up at Kitty Magee Arena. 

Beers tied for first in the evening session with her 9.800 vault, while her 9.850 floor routine was third to put her into the final in both events. She also placed third in the all-around with a 38.750.

The morning session saw four Big Red competitors on the mat, with Amy Krueger (9.725) and Michaela DeFrancisco (9.700) leading the way on vault. 

Kate Michelini was the team's top scorer on bars (9.675), with Victoria DeMeo (9.625) and Alexandra Quiana (9.575) also excelling. Michelini (9.750) and Quiana (9.750) led the way on floor, with DeMeo (9.725) right on their heels. Michelini also competed on bars and beam as an all-arounder.

Besides Beers' qualifying scores in the evening session, Mikayla Burton narrowly missed finals on beam with a 9.750, while Cami Whitaker posted 9.700's on both vault and floor. Additionally, Regina Walton competed on beam and Caitlyn Walsh was on floor.

Beers will compete for a final time this season when the 2022 USAG Collegiate national champion in the all-around looks to add titles on vault and floor on Saturday, April 8 at 1:00 p.m. CDT.
