ST. PAUL, Minn. — Cornell men's hockey senior forward Gabriel Seger and junior goaltender Ian Shane have been nominated for the 2024 Hobey Baker Memorial Award, as it was announced Friday afternoon.

Voting for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, awarded to college hockey's top player, began earlier today and will run until midnight on Sunday, March 10. Fans can cast their votes online: https://www.hobeybaker.com.

Currently serving as Cornell's leading scorer, Seger has compiled 21 points (nine goals, 12 assists) across 17 appearances this season. His 21 points are the fifth-most in ECAC Hockey, while his 1.24 points per game average ranks second in the conference, only behind Quinnipiac's Collin Graf (31 points in 18 games — 1.72).

Shane's nomination marks the second consecutive season he has been up for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award. He leads all ECAC Hockey goaltenders and ranks fourth nationally in goals-against average with a 1.81 clip. His .914 save percentage is fifth among ECAC Hockey netminders.

The Hobey Baker Memorial Award is the second award Shane is nominated for, as on Jan. 12, Shane was tabbed to the watch list for the Mike Richter Award for a third straight season.

Seger, Shane, and the No. 13-ranked Cornell men's hockey team return to action on Friday when it squares off against Harvard at Bright-Landry Hockey Center in Cambridge, Mass. Puck drop between the Big Red and Crimson is scheduled for 7 p.m. Game action will be broadcast on ESPN+ and over the airwaves on WHCU (870 AM, 97.7 FM, whcuradio.com).
