Men's Polo Opens Spring Season With Win Over Yale

1/27/2024 11:09:00 AM

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Cornell men's polo team opened the second half of its season Friday night with a 28-12 victory over the Yale Bulldogs, improving to 5-4 overall. It was Cornell's second victory over Yale this season.

"A great way to kick off our spring season with a win over longstanding Ivy League and Regional rival Yale," said Anthony Condo, the Peter B. Orthwein '68 Head Coach of Polo. "The game was more choppy than our guys are used to, which posed a significant challenge to us - including riding an unfamiliar string of horses."

Eduardo Palacios, Patricio Fraga-Errecart and Benito Jaramillo Samper led the scoring charge for the Big Red. Jarmillo Samper had a team-high 13 goals.

Cornell hosts Georgetown on Friday, Feb. 2.
