NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Cornell men's track and field team took the course at The Armory (Columbia University) on Friday and Saturday at the Dr. Sanders Invitational. Freshman distance-runner Pierre Attiogbe took the crown in the mile (4:00.47), and shattered the Cornell freshman record in the meantime nearly pacing his way to sub-four minutes.
Shane Racey took the victory in the pole vault.
A handful of Cornellians earned top-five results in their respective events.
Justin Wei (60-meter dash - fourth),
Tyler Tisinger (800-meter run - fifth), Attiogbe (mile -first),
Desmond Whitley (triple jump - fourth),
Brad Morell (weight throw - second), and a distance medley relay (third) squad of
Pelham Bergesen, Elijah Schecter, Tisinger, and
Jake Gelfand were amongst this group.
