Freshman Cornell goaltender
Annelies Bergmann and senior Clarkson net minder Michelle Pasiechnyk stood tall in net for their respective squads, holding the score to 0-0 after the opening period. Bergmann saved nine saves in that period, while Pasiechnyk sealed off 11 Cornell shot attempts.
Just 20 seconds into the second period Brooke McQuigge found the back of the net for the Golden Knights to give them a 1-0 lead. Cornell responded by turning up the offensive zone pressure, ultimately leading to a
Lily Delianedis tip-in goal which knotted the game at 1-1.
The final period started much like the second, with the Golden Knights scoring quickly, this time from Dominique Petrie. 10 minutes later, Cornell found the goal they needed when Regalado stole the puck and found NCAA points leader Daniel streaking far side for the game-tying-goal. Both teams would hold off for the remainder of the period to an overtime session.
In the extra period, the Big Red and Golden Knights traded opportunities on the net to no avail, until Daniel took the puck away from the opposition and found Delianedis for the game winner. Bergmann finished the night with 28 saves, while opposing goalie Pasiechnyk collected 29 of her own.
