ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Cornell equestrian team opened its 2024-25 season with a stellar performance at show one of the doubleheader at the Rochester Institute of Technology, capturing the high point championship as well as having the high point rider and reserve high point rider for the show.
Cornell earned the high point championship of the day, Caly Stewart was the high point rider and Jianna Simcik was the reserve high point rider of the show.
Erin Morera (open fences), Lily Skillern (intermediate fences), Stewart (intermediate fences), Simcik (limit fences), Jillian Ryan (limit fences), Caroline Gaudet (Novice), Lauren Benson (Pre-Novice) and Uma Comfort (introductory) all had first-place finishes on the day.
Riley Gerardo (open flat), Jillian Steinmetz (intermediate flat), Stewart (intermediate flat), Emma Basher (intermediate fences), Simcik (limit flat) and Evelyn Gurvich (novice) all earned second place finishes.
